How has a Label Transformed Over the Years?

Has the topic about how complex a label can be ever crossed your mind? It was discovered that a label was first created by hand in the early 1700s CE (Label & Narrow Web). As years went by and technology formed, a label became more advanced and complex.

What Were Labels Used For Back Then?

In the early 1700s, labels were created to be added to wine bottles, tins, cans and medical containers. These labels were manufactured by a wooden press and was then glued to the product (Ellco Etikett). As years went on, newer things began to arise and develop into the print industry. In the mid 1800s, colour became a more prominent factor in a label which would have made a big difference.

A great advance in the industry came into play in the late 1700s and early 1800s when the printing process of lithography was invented by a man named Alois Senefelder. In the printing industry, this was most likely very exciting and inspiring.
